I started in August

I started in August
So cute and small,
And through the months
I've grown up so tall.
Look at my portraits
And you will see,
How much I've grown-
My pictures and ME!

It's The End
Of The School Year!
I staple this poem to the front of a folded piece of construction paper with a photo of the child from the first day of school.  On the inside I paste a student self drawn portrait from the first month of school on the left side and a student self drawn portrait from May on the right side.  It makes a nice end of year gift!
You are a very special person

You are a very special person

And, ___________, you should know,

How I loved to be your teacher

How fast the year did go!

Please come back to visit me

As through the grades you grow

Try hard to learn all that you can

There is so much to know!

The one thing I tried to teach you

To last your whole life through

Is to know that you are special

Just because, ___________, you are you!

Love,

Mrs. Fischer

Kindergarten 2000-2001

Here is another end of the year gift idea I have used.  Type this poem on the computer and print it on decorative school paper.  I save enough room at the bottom for a photo of the child.  I also laminate it so that it gets home with the child in good shape.

End of the Year Song

End of the Year Song

To the tune of the Adams Family

Da Da Da Da (5X)
We know our ABCs
And counting 1, 2, 3,s
And now we know all these
The kindergarten class
Da da da da (5X0
We've learned how to share
We've learned how to care
Just ask us if you dare
The kindergarten class
da da da da (5x)
It seems we just begun
And now we're almost done
Kindergarten was so much fun
The Kindergarten class
da da da da (5x)
So we must say so long
'ere this our little song
But we'll be back before long
The kindergarten class
da da da da (5X) say first grade after each da da da da instead of snapping.

Giving People

Giving People
(A great poem to give to those wonderful Room Parents and Volunteers for your classroom!) I typed this on the computer and printed it on HP Magnet Maker print paper to give as gifts. (It would be great ironed on a tote bag too!)

Giving people -
They love to help.
They walk with me
Step after step.

Giving people -
With thoughtful deeds
Are there for me
To meet deep needs.

Giving people -
They pass one test -
They live to give
Their very best.

These words portray
Your life in fact.
You're always giving
Something back.
